Cacoo Video Chat
PROBLEM
Video chatting is ubiquitous in everyday work-life interactions. This feature facilitated teams to interact face-to-face. An in-app seamless workflow meant not having to rely on third-party apps which could possibly cause security risks.

Introducing the video chat option to Cacoo opened up new channels of communication within the app that were needed to stay competitive.
PROCESS
Determined whether the new feature will be designed as a separate component or if we can work within the existing editor interface.
Examine how the new feature will coincide with the existing real-time live editing activity. Video chat with collaborators can only take place with those actively interacting with the diagram.
Explore user flows that will determine the best possible entry points through to the final goal.
The video chat feature provides a more accessible way for team members to collaborate within the app.
BACKGROUND
Including video chat facilitates teams with more options to better communicate. During the Covid pandemic, it could not have been a better time to provide our work-from-home users with virtual face-to-face interaction while using our product. Not to mention users will not have to access a third-party app to conduct video calls. Having a blank sheet, diagram, or presentation to kick start a meeting is a great way to keep everyone engaged.
